pretty pretty princess

I'm obsessed with Tres Sugar's feature on Disney Princess Art. My favorite Disney princess has always been Ariel, obviously (redheads stick together), so I like seeing all the different artistic interpretations of her. I had to include some great images of other princesses, too. The hipster depictions are genius, I mean, Ariel as a redhaired Amy Winehouse?! I love the real-life portrayals and how funny/disturbing is the obese Cinderella? I'd love to have the whole collection of the "7 Deadly Sins." In fact, if I had a daughter, I'd definitely try to get at least one of these collections to decorate a wall (maybe not "7 Deadly Sins," that would be a little dark).

proper presents: college coed

Christmas is a great time to restock and revamp the essentials for college kids. The key for students is to be comfortable in their living space and clothes, without compromising style. On-trend, cozy items that make a dorm feel homey and inspiring can be reenergizing come second semester. Simple luxuries such as candles and lotions give students an opportunity to feel pampered in an environment where shoes are required for bathing. There are certain basics all students need, like boots, bags and jackets, but choosing stylish versions help them stand out and feel more put together. College students aren't known for taking great care of their things, so high quality items that will hold up are good investments.

suri's burn book

I swear, I was just holding this for a friend.

Sure, I much prefer a Storybook Breakfast to the rides at Disneyland, but I would ride Splash Mountain with the Witherspoon family. Look at Ava’s face! She even makes pure terror look awesome.

And that hands-up grandma is having more fun than I’ve had at any family function ever.

If you aren't addicted to Suri's Burn Book yet, you will be now. It's follows and analyzes celebrity children from the perspective of Suri Cruise.

When I read it at work, I get awkward because I always laugh out loud and then feel weird explaining what was so funny. Um, it's a website, making fun of famous babies, written like it's by Tom Cruise's daughter... But really it isn't??

I love that "Suri" has consistent feelings about every celebrity kid. She approves of Cruz Beckham and Ava Witherspoon, hates and envies Beyonce's future baby and pities the Affleck girls. She also despises her parents.

my future daughters

I hope Sophia Grace and Rosie don't become annoying like... every other breakout viral star. They are too cute to be true and remind me of myself and one of my best friends, Elena, when we were that age. We were constantly making music videos and songs in our basements. Keep in mind: this was in the early to mid-90's, so our poor parents were in charge of filming these monstrosities. And there was no Youtube. Elena and I have both now admitted that we saw these videos as a sort of documentation that, when we got famous, would be used in the E! and VH1 specials about our lives.

Welp, this was embarassing.

cool kids

There are a lot of downsides to being freakishly small (I'm 5'1) and young looking. Bartenders regularly act like I'm pulling a fast one on them with a super awesome fake I.D., guests at work think I'm an intern, people frequently assume my boyfriend is my dad, brother or uncle (he's 6'5)... normal. If you saw me walking down the street, you'd assume I was like, 17. If I just rolled out of bed... probably 14.

All my life I've been told that I'll appreciate this when I'm older. I'm still waiting.

One great benefit though, is being able to buy children's clothes. They're cheaper, and you never have to worry about being caught in the same outfit as someone else. Except maybe your 7-year-old neighbor. A children's size 12 is basically a S or XS in women's. A 14 can sometimes even be too big on me.

The best place for kid's clothing is J. Crew's Crew Cuts.

Not everything works. Pull-over tops don't really fit because of the high necklines and straight shapes. The same goes for dresses.

The mecca of kid's clothes is button-ups which are amazing and often fit me better than women's sizes. You'll also strike gold with a-line skirts, loose-fitting shorts, outerwear and accessories.

I need to get my hands on the Vintage Cord Boy Short and Flight School Vest.
