wish i was wearing: blues and greens

I'm not sure my legs are long and thin enough to wear cropped trousers with flats, but I love how comfortably polished this combination looks. I'm also loving mixing colors of similar shades, like teal, navy and green. The showstopper here, though, is those shoes! I would wear them with everything! So adorable.

prints for all mankind

Could these be the perfect pair of printed pants I've been searching for? 7 For All Mankind has the cutest selection of printed skinny jeans. The Toffee and Laser Ikat are so fun and can be dressed up or down. The Garden Party print is the prettiest floral. It's dark enough to be worn now, and bright enough to last through the warmer seasons. I think the pair in Kauai Floral are absolutely perfect. I love the large floral pattern and the colors are spot-on for what I want to pair them with. A chambray shirt would go just as well as a racerback tank, fitted black blazer or flowy peasant top.

weekend party pants

Holiday season means there can't be enough glitter or sparkles in your wardrobe. Instead of looking like everyone else in a sequin skirt or dress, try one of these awesome pairs of sparkly pants.

A pair of sequin leggings may be for the biggest risk taker (with a banging bod), but sparkly trousers are perfect for a party but polished enough to wear at the office.

The pants are such a statement piece, topping them with a simple sheer blouse would look elegant and fun. There are also tons of ways of rocking these while avoiding looking predictable. Mix in harder pieces like chambray, leather or even flannel. Go monochromatic without being too showy by topping with a shirt or jacket in matte colors of the same shade.

rule breaking

Isn't it weird that once upon a time someone thought they could make a rule about when to wear certain clothes? The oddest one has got to be "no white after Labor Day." Huh?!

Most people have rightly disregarded this rule, but a lot of people still shy away from wearing white pants come September. Autumn is the best time for white pants! They're the perfect neutral for layering fall colors on top of. With a chambray top and boots, you've got what has to be one of the cutest Fall looks. Black flats, white skinny jeans and a black driving coat would be too chic for me to even handle.

I created the above look on Polyvore and now I'm feeling like I need an army green satchel like that one by Proenza Schouler. If only I had an extra $1,225 lying around.
