color combination: peach and mint

The Jill Stuart Spring 2012 collection is easy, feminine perfection. One of my favorite looks is this peach and mint, breezy dress. Even the names of the colors sound perfect for warmer weather. "Peach and mint" sounds like a refreshing tea, cocktail or sherbet! Mint is the color-of-the-moment and orange is having its moment in the spotlight. I love how cheery and modern these two colors look together. They look just as good color-blocked as they do anchored by a more neutral color or pattern.

tangerine tango

A lovely reader wrote in a while ago and mentioned she'd been seeing orange bags everywhere these days. Well, we know tangerine isn't going anywhere, since it was named Pantone's color of the year. I'm loving all the orange hues this season, from burnt orange, to neon, to peach. If orange isn't your color (it wasn't for the reader, and it's not for me and my red hair, either), you can still get in on the trend with a bright, juicy orange bag.

wish i was wearing: blues and greens

I'm not sure my legs are long and thin enough to wear cropped trousers with flats, but I love how comfortably polished this combination looks. I'm also loving mixing colors of similar shades, like teal, navy and green. The showstopper here, though, is those shoes! I would wear them with everything! So adorable.

prepare for stylish sofa overload

The Glitter Guide recently did a feature with Jamie Meares of Furbish Studio about how to decorate a couch. It was one of my favorite articles I've read online recently. I love Ms. Meares' advice about how to choose and place blankets and pillows. She has such a great eye. Her wonderful suggestions sent me on an online sofa-searching-rampage. I love seeing the different colors, textures and prints and how, sometimes, the most unexpected combinations work so perfectly.

erin go bragh

Happy St. Patrick's Day my little lassies! As a redhead, it's mandatory that I love this holiday. Not to mention, I'm like 150% Irish (okay, not quite), and my siblings and I sound like we're saints or leprechauns with our ultra-Irish names. We're members of an O-apostrophe clan!

Needless to say, I love having my soda bread, Guiness and potatoes on Saint Patrick's Day (super low-carb). My family is abandoning me for Boston (the ultra-Irish home of the Celtics of all places!) to celebrate our homeland's famous holiday. I'm still conjuring up what my signature cocktail of the day will be and brainstorming Irish recipes. The one thing I don't need to worry about is an outfit. Being as Irish as I look, I abstain from wearing green. My hair is my Irish flair!

So as you celebrate, remember that on St. Patrick's Day, everyone's Irish! I hope you drink, laugh, pray, curse and get red in the face like the Irish. I leave you with one of my favorite Irish blessings:

Wishing you always...
Walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain
And tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire.

Cheers!

Ladies and gentlemen (okay, just ladies...), I think we may have finally found some replacements for Michael Kors' menswear-inspired watches. Kate Spade's new foray into timepieces is sure to be a huge success. Expect to start seeing these adorable accessories included in the most stylish arm parties.

The collection is inspired by Kate Spade's home, New York City. Each watch is named after a Big Apple landmark. The Carousel Bangle, a gorgeous bracelet with a clock face, comes in fun, candy colors, but my favorite is the gold polka dots, Gold Confetti. The Delacorte Bangle is a little thicker and is etched with pretty gold designs. The Gramercy, Gramercy Crystal, Gramercy Grand, Seaport and Seaport Grand are old-school basics, like the locations they were named for, but are on trend with the oversized look that is popular now and come in gold, silver and bronze. The Metro has a classic round face and thin leather strap. It's convenient and practical, just like everybody's favorite form of public transportation! I love the Gold Spade and Pink pieces. The Cooper has a delicate square face and comes as a strap, or with classic, ladylike links. The Parsons is available as a strap or with links, and embraces its namesake with an artistic square design. The Waldorf also comes with links or a strap, and looks elegant, like the hotel with a crystal edge.

The watches are fun and feminine, consistent with Kate Spade's current direction. The bangle watches feature sweet messages like "Kick Up Your Heels," and the classic watches come with the option of a cute pink spade. I really love that another trusted designer is getting in on the watch game and think I may have to pick one up for myself!
