cowboys and indians

Opening Ceremony's latest collaboration with Pendleton is all about going native.

Opening Ceremony is known for working with classic American lines like Levi's and Timberland and American's known for their style like Spike Jonze and Chloƫ Sevigny. The line celebrates America but gets a little more creative, avoiding the standard Americana vibe.

Pendleton's signature Native American patterns look funky and irreverent when styled into a pencil skirt or slim cropped pants. The patterns are directly evocative of the old west, but I love that the line picks up on how those sorts of designs have been adopted by designs used in cold climates, like a lodge in Colorado or a cabin in Utah. Therefore, the patterns look effortless styled into ponchos, capes and jackets.

I wish I could find an excuse to wear Navajo Pencil Dress.
